For the grinding wheel to remove material, it needs to be sharp, and a profile is often required so various options are available:
- Single or multi point diamond for flat wheels.
- Chisel shaped diamond for low volume where a contour is required.
Dressing Disc
Can perform the above two applications with advantage of a longer life. This method of dressing can be used for volume, development and where the profile changes on a regular basis for production.
Diamond Rolls
These are dedicated profiles for large volume production. This is the fastest method of putting in a profile into a wheel in combination with table dressing or overhead dressing with either CD or IPD technology
